Easy Set Up

The unit is small and strong. It can either be set up permanently or repeatedly folded and unfolded for travel.

We can assemble it in less than four minutes and have a link to an Assembly Video to get you started.

Teleprompter / AutoCue

The Folding Mark E accepts tablets up to, but not including the iPad Pro, to offer the autocue/teleprompter function when you just can’t get the subject to say what you need without a helpful prompt.  We use ProPrompter Studio (about US$20 from app store) for our autocue software.

Award winning, patented unit

Described as “simple but ingenious,” by filmmaker Philip Bloom, the EyeDirect was recognized at NAB by TV Technologies Mario Award for “demonstrating forward thinking and technical excellence.”

Attention New Zealand (and possibly others)

Importer identification/registration number (specifically a **Customs Number** for private/individual importers or a **Client Code** for commercial ones) are required for items valued at over NZ$1000.

In international shipping (including via FedEx), the **importer of record** is almost always the **recipient/buyer** in the destination country (New Zealand in this case). This means the **responsibility** to provide the required importer ID number lies with the **buyer in NZ**, not the US shipper/seller.

### Key Details from NZ Customs and FedEx Guidelines
– For imports valued at **NZ$1,000 or more**, a Customs Number (for private/personal use) or Client Code (for commercial/business use) is required for clearance.
– This is mandated by New Zealand Customs Service to process the import entry.
– FedEx cannot release the shipment without this info if it’s flagged as needed.
– FedEx offers to obtain the number on the importer’s behalf if the buyer provides necessary paperwork/details, which can speed things up.

What Should Happen Next
– **The buyer in NZ** needs to respond to FedEx (usually via a link in the email, their FedEx account, or by contacting FedEx NZ support) and provide their Customs Number/Client Code.
– If they don’t have one yet, they can apply for it directly through the New Zealand Customs website:
– For private/individual imports: Apply for a **Customs Number** → https://www.customs.govt.nz/personal/send-and-receive-items/customs-number/
– For commercial/business imports: Apply for a **Client Code** → https://www.customs.govt.nz/business/import/lodge-your-import-entry/client-codes/
– Applications are straightforward (often online or via form), require basic ID/proof, and are free/quick for most cases.
– Once provided to FedEx, clearance should proceed (buyer may also owe any applicable GST/duty, which FedEx often collects on delivery).

Attention International

For **commercial imports** valued **below US$1000** (low-value shipments) from the US via FedEx, finding buyers and handling requirements is similar to higher-value but often simpler due to **informal entry** processes in many countries. Duties/taxes may be zero or minimal below **de minimis thresholds**, and importer registration is frequently **not required** for small commercial shipments.

**Certifications Required** (Product-Specific, General for Non-Electronic Plastic/Metal Video Production Item like Teleprompter):
Certifications depend on the exact product (HS 9002.90 or similar). For low-value commercial, many countries waive or simplify if no safety/health risks.

Common examples:

– **EU countries** (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden): UKCA for UK (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland).
– **Australia/New Zealand**: No mandatory for simple plastic/metal
– **Canada/Mexico**: generally none for non-regulated.
– **Japan/South Korea**: JIS or KC voluntary.
– **Saudi Arabia**: SASO conformity often required even low-value.
– **Brazil/Argentina**: INMETRO/ANMAT if consumer goods; often simplified low-value.
– **Others** (e.g., China-influenced like Iran/Iraq, Africa/Middle East): Conformity certificates (e.g., SONCAP for Nigeria but not listed, GSO for Gulf); many low-value skip.

For a non-electronic item, **few mandatory certifications** globally at <US$1000.

**General Tips for <US$1000**:
– Below de minimis (e.g., NZ ~US$600, Canada ~$15 duty, Australia ~$650, many EU/UK low/zero by 2026), no duties/taxes often; informal entry = faster release, no importer ID needed in most cases.
